  1. Pete Ham's "Baby Blue" is textbook power-pop -- irresistibly catchy fuzz riffs and sighing melodies -- and with its Harrison-esque slide guitars, "Day After Day" is so gorgeous it practically aches. "Perfection" is an unheralded gem, while "Name of the Game" and "Take It All" are note-perfect pop ballads.

  3. Eventually I bought Ass when the great Apple selloff occurred in the mid-seventies, and then bought Badfinger as a cut-out LP in for a couple bucks. Surprisingly, Badfinger quickly became one of my favorites by the band. I think Pete was at his melancholic best here, a /5(49).

  6. “Just How Lucky We Are” is a longer Pete Ham demo. “Dennis” is the edit version from ‘Perfection: The Songs of Badfinger’s Pete Ham & Tom Evans’ promo CD that gives disc one a deserving finish. CD 2, once again, focuses exclusively on the original mix of ‘Head First’.
  7. Badfinger - For Pete's Sake - Disc 1 [ Reviews] [ Want lists] the first appearence on CD of an alternate 'piano version' of Do You Mind and the rough mixes of several tracks from their classic Apple-era. Top of the Pops live vocal with fixed intro: 8. Without You (Evans/Ham) Regular (date unknown) Badfinger: If it's Love demo.
  8. saw the release of three Badfinger album's in the U.K. Badfinger's last Apple Record's album " Ass" & their 1st Warner obligation the self titled " Badfinger" & then this album " Wish You Were Here" & then under threat's of lawsuit's Badfinger retreated back to Apple Recording studio's & recorded basically a double album's worth of songs /5(96).
  9. They're all great additions to the Badfinger song catalog, and deserve a few comments each. The legendary unreleased Pete Ham song "Baby Please" is actually a group composition, but clearly with Pete Ham in the lead. Pete sings this great boogie-rocker and also delivers some great lead-guitar. A song worthy of Status Qou/5().
